Canadian Embassy Reconfiguration
In 2009, Calnitsky Associates Architects was engaged by the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) to provide architectural and engineering services for the reconfiguration of the Canadian Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine. The intent of the project was to reconfigure the embassy so as to present a strong Canadian identity and to reinforce the Canadian presence in Kyiv. While respecting the structure and architecture of the surrounding neighborhood, the proposed renovations included an extensive upgrade to the existing building exterior, reconfiguration of the interior, c/w new finishes and building systems. As well, the project contemplated an addition of a new Guard House and upgraded security to the building and site.
