Harvlong, Lumsden, Lake Ridge Townhouse Complex Revitalization, Winnipeg, MB

This Manitoba Housing project consisted of extensive revitalization and renovation work to the exterior of the Lake Ridge Townhouse complex. This renovation and revitalization is part of the Manitoba Housing’s CEAP Funded Projects.

The intent of the project was to decrease energy costs, increase occupant comfort levels, extend the life of the building envelope, and provide a maintenance reduced exterior finish.

The design process focused on the elements affecting the performance of the building envelope, and entailed increasing the insulation values of the walls and the roof. As part of the exterior revitalization, the windows and doors were also replaced. The project also included the replacement of the existing furnaces by utilizing condensing units as well as adding heat recovery ventilators to meet ventilation requirements within a new airtight building envelope.
