Robertson School Addition and Renovation, Winnipeg, Manitoba

Robertson School is a Winnipeg School Division Nursery to Grade Six elementary school with over 440 students and 80 staff located in Winnipeg’s North End. The school’s guiding principles – “a community of learners – working together” provides opportunity for meaningful involvement in learning and encourages the development of self worth within every student. The school strives to ensure that individuals feel accepted, valued, and safe. Robertson School was expanded to include a new gymnasium, library, computer classroom, and Autism Centre to meet the growing needs of the community. As well, renovations to the existing school included an updated main entry and administrative offices, alterations to the multi-purpose room, and a new staff room, grooming room, and life skills area. The school expansion features geometric figures on the building exterior which playfully reflect the activities and environment within an elementary school setting.
